Losing inches but not lbs?

I am noticing that my waist is shrinking but I am not losing much weight. I lost 10 lbs in the 1st 2 weeks but then minimal 0-1 then next few weeks. However, I am not entirely discouraged because my waist is shrinking (down 2 inches off my belly). People are noticing and that is exciting to talk about the diet.
I am hitting the high fiber mark daily and taking a probiotic, and having a big salad almost daily which helps I think. I am struggling to drink the water. It was suggested I sip thru out the day instead of guzzle it but I find that hard to do.

  1. Hi Jamie, saw your comment on question segment tonight and thought Id stop by. Just a thought (not a comment to freak you out! ha!) about your S/C per meal. I notice you frequently go over 5/2 in a single meal. Remember, over 5gram sugar locks in the belly fat. Just something to think about.

Also, you mentioned Fiber One cereal instead of Uncle Sams. I checked it out, looked good, bought it, ate it... and I was SURE it had sugar it just tasted too sweet. After looking at the ingredients Fiber One has aspartame in it! I could not believe it! Too bad, because the fiber count was so great too. - Amber

  2. I'll have to recheck the formula. I thought it was 15/6 and the recommendation was 5/2 per meal. I actually don't go over the 5/2 because I cut the serving sizes.

As for the FiberOne. I checked the box and it does not have aspartame in it. Not sure where you saw that. I read the ingredients direct from the box. Here is a link to their website which seems to match the box I have: http://www.generalmills.com/stream_image.aspx?rid=28683

  3. I thought I had read posts where you had higher sugars for breakfast, like 9/2. But that must have been another blog! I thought if you were having trouble losing lately that might help.

I got Original Fiber One, which does have better S/C/fiber count than Uncle Sams, but it does have Aspartame. I read it on my box and on the website you mentioned. http://www.generalmills.com/stream_image.aspx?rid=28683 Interesting the Honey Clusters version doesnt. I was really really shocked that it had it!

  4. Hey - you were right about the 9/2. I saw that I had that in my "typical day" but I never changed that although I did make some adjustments in my meals. I am doing better now and will try to stick to 5/2 per meal. This morning I did 3/2 and am full.

As for the FiberOne, I see what you mean. It is very odd that the original has the bad stuff and the HoneyClusters doesn't. But I did see that the HC has HFCS which we know is also bad, so I'm going to stop eating that for a bit too. Thanks for pointing that out.

I appreciate your help and your comments.
